Today, as we welcome Lord Ganesha into our homes and our heart, it is just the appropriate moment to take a nice look at the real meaning this powerful deity wishes to convey.

Ganesha is the symbol of PURITY..

We are all aware that in India, any auspicious occasion is always started by Ganesh Poojan.
This ritual is actually a reminder for us that whatever it is that we are about to begin, the first requirement is the purity of all that is involved in the action.

AIM or PURPOSE OF AYURVED

“Maintaining the heath of the healthy and treating the diseased to regain lost health”

We can so clearly see the pure purpose is health. First preservation, then if required, treatment. This forms the basis of Preventive Ayurved. The treasure that we should unlock on priority basis for health of our country and the world.

PURITY OF ACTION (TREATMENT)

“Pure treatment is that which pacifies the present disease causing imbalance, but does not in any way create a new imbalance”

When we are so harassed by the side effects of modern medicine, why not turn to the science that defines it’s treatment by the absence of unpleasant side effects.

PURITY OF THE DOER (THE DOCTOR)

“The ideal doctor should have good knowledge of the texts, practical experience of applications along with presence of mind and purity of body and heart”

This is a reminder to all doctors of Ayurved. Excellence in knowledge is a must but what we must not forget is that, that knowledge will only reside in a pure mind and heart. There are codes of conduct given as well, to be able to achieve this.

Let us all, patients and doctors take this festival of purity in its true sense and irrespective of the chaos externally, look within for that silent, pure center from which everything we do should emerge.

May Lord Ganesha himself guide this process..
